BECAUSE 'MURIKA! FUCK YEAH!

This reminds me of that news report back in 2008 during the presidential election.  Some dipshit TV reporter had been sent by his producer on a Cletus Hunt looking for The Average Rural White American Voter and to get his or her take on the campaign between Senator Obama and John McCain.

The TV crew was in some godawful redneck place like Indiana and they knocked on the door of some good, salt of the earth type -- you know the sort of house....huge dish antenna mounted in the back yard, white painted truck tires in the front planted with wax begonias in imitation of the same sort of floral display to be found down the road at the Citgo station, refrigerator and broken Laz-E-Boy recliner on the porch......

Anyways, the dipshit TV reporter is doing a live feed and goes to the front door and knocks and Mrs. Elderly White Redneck appears wearing hair curlers and a polyester house robe.  The dipshit reporter introduces himself and asks who they intend to vote for in the election.....

Yelling is heard from off camera from the back of the house:

Husband: Who's that at the door, Lurleen?

Lurleen:  It's a TV reporter, Jasper.

Jasper:  A TV reporter?  What the hell does he want?

Lurleen:  He wants to know who we're fixin' on votin' for in the election.

Jasper:  Tell him we're votin' for the nigger!

It really doesn't get much more American than that.

PUSSY PATROL

AAAAND WE'RE OFF -- WELCOME TO BiE 2.0

Soooooo, after....let's see......8 years I've decided to re-launch Bill in Exile.

The original BiE launched here on Blogspot back in late 2004 -- the start of the high-water mark of the internet blog era. Two years later I migrated it over to a WordPress template hosted by Dream Host due to Blogger's unfriendly (to porn) community standards at the time.

Over the next decade the blog went from getting a few hits a day to a few thousand hits a day and it developed a bit of a community of people who really liked it -- some of whom are still active in my life today!

My desire to launch a Version 2.0 of BiE stems from several reasons, one of which is that I'm finding more and more that Facebook simply isn't a good format for long-form editorializing or storytelling.  Another is that Facebook has taken a decidedly rightwing/fascist lean and has been covering up and deleting blog posts from users with whom they do not agree politically.  I'll continue posting to FB but will start restricting my online presence there to more simple(minded) shit.  And as time goes by I'd like this to be the place for people to find....more interesting content...for lack of a better term.....and that serves as a place free of thought and image censorship -- unlike Facebook.  Also, FYI -- I decided to keep the original name of the blog in honor and memory of Bill Cullum, for whom the blog was originally named and who died January 23rd, 2020.

For now, I'm going to allow BiE 2.0 to evolve a bit naturally (that's another way of saying I don't really have a concrete thematic concept for it.....yet) BUT.....I'd like this version to be a bit more collaborative and less one-way than its previous iteration.  So, with that in mind, if you have an image submission you'd like to see run here, or even a long-form editorial or thought piece that you think might fit and be interesting or that you'd simply like to see in print, please feel free to contact me in the comments here or on my Facebook messenger for the time being.

I'm still organizing the content and theme concepts so regular posting will be up and running and....well....regular....in a couple of days.  But check back regularly since I tend to post a couple times a day at least, when I'm at peak production and firing on all cylinders.

In the meantime, won't you please enjoy this fine young man whose image was provided by Friend of the Blog (and friend of mine) Damien.
